Alice P. GormleyMember of a well-known Lowell family; Alice P. (Flynn) Gormley, 93, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Sunday evening January 8, 2017 at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Raymond T. Gormley, with whom she worked at the former family restaurant, Gormley’s Luncheonette in Lowell for several years. Born in Nashua, New Hampshire, January 9, 1923, a daughter of the late Michael and the late Mary (Lynch) Flynn, she attended Nashua Schools and was a graduate of Nashua High School. Early in her career she worked at New England Telephone (nka Verizon) and then raised her four boys along with her husband. Alice is survived by four sons Thomas Gormley and his wife Eileen of Methuen, Michael F. Gormley and his wife Denise of Venice, FL, Terrence Gormley and his wife Mary Beth of Lowell and Robert J. Gormley and his wife Laurie of Merrimack, NH; nine grandchildren Keith Gormley and his wife Kimberly, Melissa Mann and her husband Jeffrey, Mary Gormley, Margaret Bacich and husband Kyle, Kaitlin Cannata and her husband Michael, Michael F. Gormley, Jr., Lindsay Gormley, Julie Anne Gormley and Joanna Gormley; three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Rita King of Pawtucket, RI; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her twin sister Irene Kilmartin and sisters Mary Sullivan and Rosemary Daly and her daughter-in-law Carol Anne (Sulick) Gormley. The members of the Gormley family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at D’Youville Senior Care for the compassion, care and concern that was given to their mother while she was a resident. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher for a Memorial Visitation from 3 to 7 P.M. Thursday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Friday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH at 9:30 A.M.
