In closing, while socializing with friends, “The Shooter” would raise a glass:

“Come tarry here and friendly be,

                                             To quaff the foaming brew.

                                             A friendly smile, a song, a dance,

  • John and Orry Costello  - Our deepest condolences
To all the Maguires and Melancons - Orry and I extend our deepest sympathy on the passing of your father and grandfather. We came to know him and love him during my statewide campaign for Lieutenant Governor back in 1964. We had hundreds of volunteers in all parts of Massachusetts -- but Bob and his incredible work in the Lowell area stood out among all other volunteers and all other cities. He often said that I was an inspiration to him, but the truth is that he was the inspiration to us. Bob was a wonderful man and great friend. With love, John W. Costello
  • Sheryl and Ken Stuettgen  - To the Maguire Family
Bob (Shooter) was a great friend of ours in Daytona Beach. He will be greatly missed by us. Loved taking him chocolate chip cookies and brownies, which he always enjoyed. He would always come down to the pool and chat with us. He always had great stories to share. Our time at the pool will never be the same without him.
