Jose Nieves
Beloved father, grandfather and brother
Jose Nieves, 63, of Lowell, died unexpectedly on Friday November 20, 2020 at his home. Born in Utuadi, Puerto Rico, October 7, 1957, a son of the late Louis C. and Ramona (Arteaga) Nieves, he moved to Lowell at an early age and received his education in the Lowell schools system. Prior to his retirement, Jose was a warehouse worker at the former Joan Fabrics in Lowell for several years. Among his many interests, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing dominos, and he loved to dance. Jose is survived by seven children Jose Nieves, Jr. of Worcester, Delia Nieves of Lowell, Tania Nieves of Lowell, Naiomi Nieves of Lowell, Miriam Nieves of Florida, Olga Berrio of Lowell and Silvia Berrio and her husband Ronnie of Westford, MA; many grandchildren; two sisters Nilsa Rodriguez of CT and Sonia Nieves of Lowell; a brother Hector Velazquez of Lowell; many nieces and nephews. Charles F. Ravagni, Jr.
Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Charles F. “Charlie” Ravagni, Jr., 73, of Lowell, passed away peacefully Monday November 30, 2020 at the Palm Center in Chelmsford, MA. Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, December 26, 1946 son of the late Charles F. and the late Grace (Aveni) Ravagni, he attended Wilmington schools and was a graduate of Wilmington High School in 1964. Charlie went on to attend U/Mass Lowell where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Plastics Engineering. A veteran of the Navy, he proudly served his country as a member of the US Naval Reserve. Charlie worked at Sweetheart Plastics, Gloucester Engineering and was a Plastics Engineer with Nova Chemicals for many years prior to his retirement. Among his many interests, Charlie was a small Aircraft Pilot, avid golfer, sports enthusiast and enjoyed his Wilmington High School “mini reunions”. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Charlie is survived by his daughter Caroline C. Sheehan and her husband Timothy of Lowell; two grandsons Graham T. Sheehan and Rory T. Sheehan; a brother George Ravagni and his wife Susan of Wilmington; a sister Donna Palmariello and her husband Vincent of Derry, NH; his good friend and former wife Maryalyce Ravagni of Tewksbury, former sisters in law Patricia Nichols of Charlestown and Cathy Ronan of Lowell; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Frances Patsourakos Beloved sister, aunt and cousin;
Frances Patsourakos, a member of a well-known Lowell family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at D’Youville Senior Care.
Frances was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on November 9, 1927, the daughter of the late Peter K. and the late Demetroula (Troubataris) Patsourakos.
Frances attended Lowell schools, graduated from Lowell High School, where she was part of the Girl Officers Regiment, and went on to graduate from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Elementary Education. She furthered her education at Columbia University in New York City, the Graduate School of Education, pursuing a Master’s degree in the School of Administration and Guidance.
Ms. Patsourakos was employed throughout her entire professional career by the Town of Wakefield School System. She began as an Elementary School teacher and later went on to be the Director of the Guidance Department. She was dedicated to education and especially to her students. Her commitment was reflected in her willingness to always assist her students to achieve their goals.
Frances’s love and devotion to family brought her great joy. Holidays and special occasions always found the family gathered in her home with continuous conversations, much laughter and, of course, an abundance of “Greek” food. Her loss is profound to those who loved her, but her life lessons will endure. Her warm smile, gentle ways and kindness will always be remembered by those who knew her.
She was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell where she played the organ in her youth, a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, Daughters of Penelope, Hellenic Culture and Heritage Society, and the Retired Teachers Association of Massachusetts. She was also a member of the Merrimack Repertory Theater, the Whistler House Museum, Brush with History, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and several other civic organizations.
Frances is survived by her brother, George P. Patsourakos and his wife Elaine; her beloved niece, Diedra Mangiavas Wolfe; a special cousin, George Scagos; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, godchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Patsourakos and Lillian Patsourakos.
She was predeceased by her three sisters, Mary Patsourakos, Xanthe “Pat” Mangiavas, and Anne Hatziolos; three brothers, James P. Patsourakos, Attorney Vasillios P. Patsourakos, and Attorney Charles P. Patsourakos; a sister-in-law, Emelia (Saxonis) Patsourakos;
two brothers-in-law, George R. Mangiavas and Basil Hatziolos; and two special cousins, William Scagos, and Cynthia (Scagos) Natsios.
The family would like to thank D’Youville for the dedicated care that was provided to Frances while she resided there.

Brenda E. Jarrett
Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend;
Brenda E. Jarrett, 52, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her home.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 5, 1968, daughter of the late William C. Jarrett and Elizabeth A. (Chapman) Jarrett (who survives her) and her step-father Russell Lahaise of Methuen. Brenda attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1986 and participated on both the basketball and volleyball teams.
Brenda was a comptroller with Bowers & Wilkins in Reading, MA where she worked for over 20 years until her recent retirement.
Brenda loved golf and was an active member at Long Meadow Golf Club. She was one of the first seven original women members to be offered full membership at the Club. She was a very social person and loved her time spent at the club where she thoroughly enjoyed the company of all the special people there.
She was also a member of the 2007 Long Meadow Women’s City Golf Team and was on the founding Women's Cities Tournament Committee.
In addition, Brenda enjoyed travelling and trips to Foxwoods with friends and being "Auntie" to her niece and nephew.
Besides her mother and step-father, she is survived by a sister Barbara A. Farley of Lowell; a brother William J. “Bill” Jarrett of Kittery Point, ME; a nephew and godson William P. Jarrett of Boston; a niece Hannah E. Farley of Lowell; and two cousins Michelle Digman and Christopher Chapman. She also leaves many cherished friends from Long Meadow as well as Bowers & Wilkins dear friends Steve Curran, Erick McBride and Jessie McDough.
