She grew up in the 80s and was reared on rock & roll (she was trying to learn to love both Cold Play and Josh Groban as she got older!). She traveled to work from Lowell to Boston on the T every day even in the depths of winter. Lucia was diagnosed at 15 with a slow-progressing form of muscular dystrophy. When she was 34, she was in an accident from which she never recovered due to her disease. She remained wheelchair bound for the remainder of her life.

Lucia was loved by many and she extended herself to many especially her godchild Kyle Farwell.
