Mary Muldoon
Loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend;
Mary (Vulgaropulos) Muldoon, 72, a member of a well-known Greater Lowell family, passed away peacefully at D’Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell on Saturday July 31, 2021 with family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late James M. Muldoon who died January 23, 2018.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, September 28, 1948, the daughter of the late Peter and the late Helen (Sakellarios) Vulgaropulos, Mary attended the Hellenic Academy in Lowell and was a graduate of Andover High School.
She went on to attend U/Lowell where she attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and later her Masters in Education from Northeastern University.
Mary, along with her husband Jim and brother-in-law Arthur owned and operated Muldoon Brothers in Lowell for many years where she served as office manager.
Active in the community, over the years Mary was a staunch supporter and volunteer for Girls. Inc. and was active with the Academy of Notre Dame and The Pike School with their Parent Teacher Associations.
Mary is survived by her son James P. Muldoon and his wife Jennifer Coghlan of Rockville Center, NY; two daughters Elena M, Muldoon and her husband Gilbert A. Flores of Brooklyn, NY and Mary D. Bellerose and her husband Daniel of Newburyport; seven grandchildren Sarah, Isabel, Danny, Jack, Andrew, James and Layla; a sister Denise Papanastassiou and her husband Petros of Dracut; a brother Spyro Vulgaropulos and his wife Jan of Cary, NC; her brother-in-law Arthur R. Muldoon and Susan Francisco of Dunstable; a sister-in-law Barbara M. Doherty and her husband Lawrence of Exeter, NH; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Among the cousins, Mary had a loving and special bond with Steven, Daniela and Alethia Papanastassiou of Lowell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary’s Funeral Service to be held on Thursday August 5, 2021 at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY in LOWELL at 11 o’clock followed by her burial at St. Patrick Cemetery. Patricia A. (Hughes) Ortiz Beloved wife, aunt and friend;
Patricia A. “Pat” (Hughes) Ortiz, 64, of Fitchburg, but formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Saturday June 26, 2021 at U/Mass Medical Center in Worcester.
She was the loving wife for over 23 years of Epifanio Ortiz, whom survives her.
Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, November 6, 1956, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and the Theresa J. (Francis) Hughes, she attended Lowell school and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1975.
For many years, Pat owned and operated Stack and Hughes Roofing in Lowell until her retirement.
Among her many interests, Pat enjoyed interior decorating, creating flower arrangements, and arts and crafts, including her beautiful painted bird houses. She also enjoyed a good steak dinner and trips to Foxwoods.
Besides her husband, Pat is survived by two nieces Christine and Theresa; a nephew Sean Thomas; her best friend Joyce (Jalbert) Sullivan of Chelmsford; and her beloved dogs Amos, Daisy and Buddy.

Candice T. Connor
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, niece and aunt;
Candice T. "Candy" (Callahan) Connor, 72, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday July 23, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the loving wife of the late William F. Connor, Jr. who died in 2011.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 16, 1949, the daughter of the late John R. and the late Rita B. (Bell) Callahan, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Candy went on to receiver her Associates Degree in Science Radiologic Technology from Middlesex Community College.
Prior to her retirement, Candy was a Radiology Technician at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington and Peabody for many years.
Candy was all about family and was most happy when she was spending time with them, especially her grandsons. Among her many interests, she also enjoyed spending time at her home in Belgrade, Maine.
Candy is survived by her daughter Bridget A. Connor of Lowell; her son William F. Connor, III and his wife Rebecca K. (McLean) Connor of Chelmsford; her grandson William F. Connor, IV of Chelmsford; eight siblings John R. Callahan and his wife Pamela of Laconia, NH, Richard Callahan of Lowell, Kerry Callahan of Ft. Myers, FL, Donna Tourville of Tyngsboro, Patrick Callahan and his wife Lillian of Nashua, NH, Diana Coates and her husband Gregory of Dracut, David Callahan and his wife Patricia of Manchester, NH, Linda Reagan and her husband Rodney of Pelham, NH; her aunt Lorraine Bragan of Lowell, sister-in-law Marcia Callahan of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also the grandmother of the late McLean P. "Mac" Connor who died May 11, 2013, step-daughter of the late Beatrice Callahan, sister of the late James, Michael and Scott Callahan and aunt of the late Keith and Joseph Callahan.

Lawrence K. Stowell
Beloved father, grandfather, in-law, uncle and friend
Lawrence K. “Larry” Stowell, 84, a well-known and well-liked member of the community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at D’Youville Senior Care surrounded by his loving family.
He was the loving husband of the late Eileen M. (McDonald) Stowell who died in 2005.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 26, 1937, the son of the late Frederick C. and the late Mary (King) Stowell, he attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a graduate of Keith Academy Class of 1955.
Following his service with the National Guard he went on to graduate from Lowell Technological Institute in 1973 (nka U/Mass Lowell) with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and was also a member of the school Golf Team.
Prior to his retirement, Larry was the General Manager for M.F. Horan Company where he worked for over 45 years.
He was a longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church where he served as an Eucharistic Minister, a Senior Server and a longtime member of the parish golf committee.
Active in the community, Larry was a Past President and coach of Pawtucketville Youth Organization (PYO).
A talented golfer, Larry was a Past President, longtime Board member and a Life Member of Long Meadow Golf Club. In addition, he was former player and committee member of the Lowell City Golf Committee for many years.
He is survived by his daughter Christine Coomas and her husband Michael of Dracut; two sons John L. Stowell and his wife Margaret of Hollis, NH and Craig M. Stowell and his wife Stavroula of Westford; seven grandchildren J. Bradley Stowell and his wife Kati, Erin Stowell, Lauren Coomas, Corinne Coomas, Evan Stowell, Eleni Stowell and William Stowell; three sisters-in-law Elsa Stowell of North Chelmsford, Janeann Kay of Chelmsford and Margaret Mary Hinde and her husband Timothy of Billerica; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by his siblings Frederick Stowell, William Stowell, Paul Stowell, Frances Harrington, John Stowell, Raymond Stowell and Robert Stowell.
