Louise A. (Moynihan) Kilmartin

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt;

Louise A. (Moynihan) Kilmartin, 91, of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at The Saab Residence in Lowell, MA.

She was the beloved wife of the late George P. Kilmartin, Ret. LPD.

Born in Lowell, MA on July 5, 1932, the daughter of the late John J. and the late Frances J. (McCrosson) Moynihan, she attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the class of 1949. Louise was a lifelong communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Church. She was also an active member of the St. Margaret Blessed Virgin Sodality; a former member of the Middlesex Women’s Club; and The League of Catholic Women.

Prior to her retirement, Louise loved her work as a Secretary at the Fred Abisi Adult Education Center in the Lowell School Departments for over 20 years. She was a proud resident of the Highlands for most of her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She was a devoted mother, Nana, and great-grandmother. She would delight in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren- never missing their milestone events.

Louise had a vibrant mind, quick wit, and a generous, compassionate heart. She was passionate about helping the less fortunate people in her humble, quiet way. Louise provided a loving home for her family. Her door was always open to welcome her family and friends with a warm embrace, a cup of tea, a sweet treat, an attentive ear, and loving advice.

Louise had many cherished friends throughout her life and shared a lifelong bond with her best friend, Lillian Vinal. She loved the beach, the lake, and long car rides- always including a stop for pie or ice cream. She enjoyed attending dances at The Elks Club with her beloved husband George, reading, and traveling with her sister Marguerite. She had a long journey with many unexpected turns, which she navigated with courage, grace, and dignity throughout her life. Louise will be dearly missed by her family and cherished friends and will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn A. Meehan, retired reading specialist and her husband Thomas E. of Dracut, MA; four sons: John F. Kilmartin of Waltham, MA; Robert J. Kilmartin, retired Colonel U.S.M.C.R. and his wife Cathleen of Barnstable, MA; William J. Kilmartin, retired postal employee of Tyngsboro, MA; and Michael D. Kilmartin of the Lowell Police Department and his wife Patricia A. of Chelmsford, MA; eight grandchildren: Joseph P. Kilmartin, Kailey E. Swetz and her husband Thomas, Daniel R. Kilmartin, Kathryn M. Matte and her husband Theodore, Kevin P. Meehan and his wife Laura, Erin M. Meehan, Michael G. Kilmartin, and Matthew J. Kilmartin; six great-grandchildren: Teddy and Jane Matte; Ryker Kilmartin; Owen and Finn Meehan; and Jude Swetz; a sister Marguerite M. Patrick of South Yarmouth, MA; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late George P. Kilmartin, Jr. and the mother-in-law of the late Tracy (Nyder) Kilmartin. She was also the sister of the late Daniel Moynihan, John Moynihan, Robert Moynihan, and James Moynihan.

Marion E. (Tatem) Thomson

Beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother;

Marion E. (Tatem) Thomson, 79, of Lowell, Massachusetts, but formerly of Boston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 25, 2023, at home.

Born in Tyrell County, North Carolina, June 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John Smith and the late Estella Tatem.

Prior to her retirement in 2004, Marion worked for the IRS in the Boston office as a Tax Examining Clerk for over 24 years.

Among her many interests, she enjoyed singing in her church, also with her band, and working in her station at flea markets. However, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by three sons: Regonal V. Tatem of Norfolk, Virginia, Keith Thomson of Boston, MA, and Kimpa L. Barnes, Jr. of Worcester, MA; two daughters Trina Saunders of Lowell, MA, and Lutrice M. Dixon of Boston, MA; a brother John Tatem of California; a sister Maybelle Smith of Norfolk, VA; 16 grandchildren Tushima Campbell, Terrance Barnes, Sheray Clark, Keicia Dixon, Sarice Saunders, Ricky Dixon Jr, Jordan Tatem, Regginald Barnes, Jessica Lugo, Micah Tatem, Sonya Lugo, Yahnel Nani Barnes, Justina Lugo, Kimpa L. Barnes III, Aliza Barnes, and Jalen Barnes; she is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

She is also the mother of the late Darrin L. Barnes and the grandmother of the late Deshawn Tatem.

She was the sister of the late J Alfred Tatem, Leonard Tatem, Juanita Tatem, Howard Tatem, Betsy Tatem, Barbara Tatem and Calvin Tatem.

Robert McLellan M.D.

Beloved husband, father, brother, in-law, and uncle;

 

Dr. Robert McLellan, 69, passed away peacefully on Oct. 10 at his home in Fernandina Beach, Fl.

Affectionately known as “Bob,” he was born in Miami, Fl., on July 29, 1954. Born into a Navy family to the late David J. McLellan and Gertrude K. McLellan (née Hayes), and siblings David and Donna, Bob lived in several states during his early life, before attending Boston College for his undergraduate degree. He then earned his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md., in 1980.

Bob led a successful career as a gynecologic oncologist, helping many in his 20 years at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., as well as at Arizona Oncology in Tucson, Ariz., and Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, N.H. Bob was also a patriot who, in his 40s, followed in the footsteps of his parents in joining the U.S. Navy as a commissioned officer in the Navy reserves. He was called to active duty and served his country admirably aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), where he deployed to the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf during Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, respectively. He attained the rank of commander.

Bob will be dearly missed. He was known for his robust sense of humor, and his interests in football, beekeeping, spending time with his loyal dog, Admiral Halsey, and cooking his homemade “Bob’s Dirty Chicken.” Bob was also known for hosting a radio program as “Dr. Bob” for Radio A1A in the Florida Keys.

He is survived by his wife, Krista McLellan, of Ipswich, Mass.; sons, David John McLellan, of Salem, Mass., and James Robert McLellan, of State College, Penn.; sister Donna Sherry and husband, Bill; sister-in-law Katie McLellan of Aspen, Col.; brother-in-law Karl Teel and his wife, Michelle, of Baltimore, Md.; brother-in-law Erik Teel and his partner, Angela Peavy, of Jacksonville, Fl.; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. He was predeceased by his brother, David McLellan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Thursday October 26, 2023 at ST. RITA CHURCH in LOWELL, MA, at 10:00 A.M. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA. Deborah C. Nicholson

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister;

Deborah C. "Debby" (Sullivan) (Bozek) Nicholson, 72, of Manchester, NH, but formerly of Lowell, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 14, 2023 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, September 12, 1951, the daughter of the late Henry F. and the late Margaret A. (Snow) Sullivan, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

Debby went on to graduate from the University of Lowell with a Bachelor of Science in Science and Mathematics.

Prior to her retirement, Debby was a Supervisor with BAE Corporation in Nashua where she worked for over 15 years. Previously, she was a 2nd grade teacher with the Chelmsford School system for many years.

Debby is survived by two sons Christopher M. Bozek of North Stratford, NH, and Jonathan D. Bozek and his wife Jody of Nashua, NH; a daughter Carolyn Bozek of Nashua, NH; four grandchildren C.J. Bozek, Joshua Bozek, Raegan Bozek and Abigail Bozek; a great granddaughter; three sisters Margaret Ofria of Dracut, Aileen McCarthy of Florida and Barbara Cormier of Dracut; a brother Henry E. Sullivan of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. in LOWELL on Sunday October 22, 2023, for a Memorial Visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Mass on Monday morning at ST.
